Multi-Email

How do I send mail from an account that isn't hosted by Pulaski Networks?

No matter which mail account you are using, if you are logged into Pulaski Networks, you will need to use our mail server for sending mail. The reason for this, is that over the last several years, the SPAM industry has grown by leaps and bounds. The end result, is that network operators all over the world have implemented strict policies against allowing people from outside their networks to use their mail servers for sending mail.

The end result of this causes a mild inconvenience to end users such as yourself, but there is a solution. Assuming that you are using Pulaski Networks exclusively to connect to the Internet, you can use the Pulaski Networks' mail server for all of your email needs, even for email accounts on other networks. Here's a table describing your mail settings for neighboring networks. If you are using an email account on a network not listed here and need assistance in getting everything set up, please drop us a note.

  • Virginia Pen
    Incoming Mail Server:  pop.pen.k12.va.us
    Outgoing Mail Server:  smtp.psknet.com

  • Virginia Tech
    Incoming Mail Server:  mail.vt.edu
    Outgoing Mail Server:  smtp.psknet.com

  • Radford University

    Outgoing Mail Server:  smtp.psknet.com

  • iPlus Internet Services
    Incoming Mail Server:  pop3.i-plus.net
    Outgoing Mail Server:  smtp.psknet.com

That's great, but what if I have a Pulaski Networks email account, but use someone else to connect to the Internet?

The solution for this is a mirror image of the solution described above. To send mail from your Pulaski Networks' account using someone else's mail server, you need to use the settings from one of the following. If you are using a network not listed here and need assistance, please drop us a note

  • Virginia Pen
    Incoming Mail Server:  pop3.psknet.com
    Outgoing Mail Server:  :pop.pen.k12.va.us

  • Virginia Tech
    Incoming Mail Server:  pop3.psknet.com
    Outgoing Mail Server:  mail.vt.edu

  • Radford University
    Incoming Mail Server:  pop3.psknet.com
    Outgoing Mail Server:  mail.runet.edu

  • US Internet
    Incoming Mail Server:  pop3.psknet.com
    Outgoing Mail Server:  smtp.usit.net

  • iPlus Internet Services
    Incoming Mail Server:  pop3.psknet.com
    Outgoing Mail Server:  smtp.i-plus.net

This is all very fascinating, but isn't there an easier solution?

That depends on what you think is easy. For me, the easiest way to deal with all this, is to choose a primary Internet Service Provider. Of course, I'm biased and think you should choose Pulaski Networks to fill this roll.

Next, I would recommend that you decide which email account you want to use to handle your all your messages. I would recommend that you use your Pulaski Networks email account, as this will give you extra protection against viruses, and will yield better performance than most other mail servers.

Assuming that you do select Pulaski Networks to handle all your email needs, you then need to set up forwarding for your other addresses. This process is sometimes simple, sometimes not. For best results, you should contact the provider for your other email addresses and ask them to set up a forwarding rule to send all your mail to your PSKNET.COM email address.

Once you've decided on a single email account and set up your forwarding rules, you will still receive all email from the other 472 addresses you have, but they will all arrive in the same mailbox, greatly simplifying your life and the lives of us folks who get paid to help you figure this stuff out.

In short, here's our recommended view of the electronic world:

  • Who's my Internet Service Provider?
    Pulaski Networks
  • Who's my primary email provider?
    Pulaski Networks
  • Where do messages sent to any of my 472 addresses go to?
    My Pulaski Networks' email account

If you need more assistance on this subject, please email us with specific questions. Vague questions will receive a link back to this page.
