No. The Internet Accelerator does not improve your connection speed. What it does, is compress web pages so they can be transmitted in less time over your existing connection.
The Internet Accelerator will accelerate Web page text (including plain text, HTML, markup and javascript) and the most common forms of graphics: GIF, animated GIF, and JPEG images, Flash and File downloads.
The Internet Accelerator does not accelerate other forms of Internet content, including: streaming media, such as video and audio streams; secure pages, such as those used for online banking and credit card forms.

Yes. Any program that can use an HTTP proxy server will be
able to use the Internet Accelerator. The proxy server should be
set to "localhost" (without quotes) and the port should be set to 8080.
Please consult your program's documentation to determine how to
configure it's settings.
The Internet Accelerator works by reducing the file size of pictures and graphics. This leads to a loss of quality, sometimes rendering them unrecognizable. There are 5 levels of acceleration available:
Low acceleration: Maintains full image quality
Medium acceleration: Reduces image quality very slightly
High acceleration: Reduces image quality slightly
Very High acceleration: Reduces image quality moderately
Maximum acceleration: Reduces image quality significantly
You can adjust the amount of acceleration you wish to have by opening the options for the Internet Accelerator.
